Spc. William A. Jeffries, 39, of Evansville, Illinois, was assigned to D Company, 1st Battalion, died on March 31, 2003, in Rota, Spain, of a sudden illness due to which he was evacuated from Kuwait. Jeffries was assigned to the 152nd Infantry Regiment, Illinois Army National Guard.
