Darren was a fun guy to be around. We were both in the 1st Cavalry Division during Operation desert sheild and desert storm. We were also there several times after the fact. You couldn't help but laugh when you were around him. It when we lose people like him that I really regret the effects of war. He will be missed. We had a saying in the 1st Cav during Desert Storm: "LIVE THE LEGEND!" He truly did live that legend, and he did it spreading laughter all along the way.
Darren, you were a great friend, soldier and leader
