Staff Sgt. Romanes L. Woodard, 30, of Hertford, North Carolina, died on April 6, 2005, in Ghazni, Afghanistan, in the crash of a CH-47 helicopter. Woodard was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment, Camp Ederle, Italy.
